    There are more than 600 professional stones import & export enterprises in Xiamen city and there are more than 4,000 stones machining & trading enterprises around Xiamen city who import, purchase, export stones via Xiamen port. There are more than 1,000 kinds of top-grade stones from the world imported & exported via Xiamen port, it is said nearly all varieties of stones from the world famous stones zones have been sweeped into Xiamen port. Most Made in China stones sold in Europe, Japan, Australia markets are manufacutured by Xiamen stones machining enterprises.     Xiamen port is the biggest port in China for years on importing and exporting stones. In 2006, Xiamen port imported & exported stones 9,300,000 tons with total value around 2.3 billion US dollars which occupied more than 60% shares of all China ports. The exported stones via Xiamen port in 2006 reached 5,850,000 tons with value around 1.67 billion US dollars, a 23% increase compared with 2005's. The imported stones via Xiamen port in 2006 reached 3,420,000 tons with value around 0.63 billion US dollars, a 34% increase compared with 2005's. So the import & export stones tons of Xiamen port in 2006 is the No.1 in the world. Xiamen is worthy of the name as China's biggest stones trade center. Approximately speaking, there is averagely one of three containers exported via Xiamen port contains stones. The others two of three containers exported via Xiamen contains commodities like garments/clothes/shoes/electronics/handicraft articles, etc.

    Xiamen Stones Industry is changing from an industry which depended on local resources superiority, mainly granites resources, to an international stones machining & trading center.
